Ductless AC systems for the spaces ducts never reached

Garage shops, additions, sunrooms, and whole houses that want room-by-room control. Ductless systems put the cooling exactly where you live, and we design them so every head actually pulls its weight.

The straight version

Ductless is the answer to a question every DFW homeowner eventually asks: how do I cool the space the ducts don’t reach? The garage that becomes a shop or gym, the addition the original system was never sized for, the sunroom that’s a greenhouse by ten in the morning, the upstairs office that runs five degrees behind the thermostat. Running new ductwork into those spaces is often impractical or impossible. A ductless system solves it with a small outdoor unit and sleek indoor heads, no ducts, no major surgery, cooling and heating both.

The design question is where ductless jobs are won or lost. Single-zone setups are straightforward, but multi-zone systems have real engineering in them: head sizing per room, line set lengths, and the honest truth that a multi-zone condenser runs best when the zones actually get used. We’ve fixed enough oversold five-head systems to know the difference, and it’s why our ductless quotes come from a room-by-room load conversation instead of a heads-per-house formula.

North Texas is hard on equipment in both directions: cooling seasons that run April to October with attics past 140 degrees, then winter fronts that drop thirty degrees in an afternoon. Every recommendation on this page is made against that reality, sizing, maintenance intervals, and the repair-or-replace math included. Equipment that gets honest seasonal attention handles it; neglected equipment picks the worst week of the year to quit.

Where ductless earns its keep

  • Garages, shops, and gyms cooled year-round
  • Additions and converted spaces the main system can’t carry
  • Sunrooms and bonus rooms with brutal sun load
  • Room-by-room zone control for uneven houses
  • Whole-home multi-zone designs done honestly
  • Quiet operation for bedrooms and offices
  • Heating included, every unit is a heat pump too
Here’s the promise every visit runs on: a real diagnosis before any talk of money, the failed part shown to you rather than described at you, a firm price before work begins, and zero pressure toward the bigger ticket. If a cheap repair fixes it, that’s the recommendation. If replacement genuinely wins the math, you’ll see the numbers that say so. Either way the decision stays where it belongs, with you.

How we approach it

Every ductless quote is a load calculation first, because the oversold multi-zone is this product’s signature scam and the undersized garage head is its signature disappointment. You’ll get the honest head count and sizes, even when the honest number is smaller than the brochure’s.

The specialty side of the catalog exists for the jobs that do not fit a tidy box: hard diagnostics other companies gave up on, code and compliance questions with money riding on the answer, and the financing and consultation conversations that make the rest of the catalog reachable. If what you need is adjacent to anything on this page, call and describe it. Twenty years in, the odd jobs are usually the interesting ones.

Financing through Synchrony and Wisetek is there when the timing is hard, and the emergency line reaches a real person 24/7. Serving Midlothian and the four-county southern DFW footprint: Ellis, Johnson, Dallas, and Tarrant counties. See finished work in the gallery.

How the call goes

  1. Describe the symptoms on the phone. Half the time you’ll get a preliminary read before the truck ever rolls.
  2. On site, the diagnosis comes from gauges and meters, not hunches, and you see the failed part rather than hear about it.
  3. The price is firm before work begins. After-hours emergency terms get stated plainly up front.
  4. When the job wraps, the system gets verified under load and you get the findings in plain language.

A note on parts and warranties: repairs use parts matched to the manufacturer’s specification, not whatever is cheapest on the shelf, and the paperwork you get names what went in. Where the equipment is still under a manufacturer’s parts warranty, we tell you, because plenty of homeowners pay full freight for parts their registration already covers. That one sentence has saved 2L customers real money over the years, and it is exactly the kind of thing a commissioned salesman is paid to forget to mention.

A word on how we price: the number quoted is the number charged, whether the job is a capacitor swap or a full changeout. After-hours emergency terms get stated plainly on the phone before a truck ever rolls. And because nobody here earns commission on findings, a healthy system gets called healthy, which long-time customers will tell you has saved them real money over the years.
Can a mini-split really cool a Texas garage in summer?

Yes, when it’s sized for the real load, garages have hot cars, no insulation in the door, and often thin walls, so the honest size is bigger than the square footage suggests. Sized right, a garage shop stays workable through August.

Do ductless systems heat too?

Every unit we install is a heat pump, so cooling in summer and efficient heat in winter come in the same package. For a garage or addition, that usually eliminates the space heater entirely.

How many indoor heads can one outdoor unit run?

Up to five on the larger multi-zone condensers, but can and should are different questions. Multi-zone systems run best matched to realistic usage, and sometimes two smaller systems beat one big one. The load math decides, not the catalog.

Are ductless systems expensive to run?

They’re among the most efficient cooling and heating available, and zoning means you condition only the rooms in use. For a single problem room, running a ductless head costs far less than dropping the whole house’s thermostat to compensate.

How disruptive is the installation?

Mild. A three-inch penetration for the line set, the head mounted inside, the condenser set outside, typically done in a day for a single zone. No ductwork, no ceiling surgery, no week of contractors.
