Which smart thermostat is best?
Depends on your system and your habits. Ecobee’s remote sensors shine in uneven houses, Nest suits set-and-forget users, Honeywell plays well with a wide range of equipment. We’ll recommend for your situation, and we install what you choose either way.
Do smart thermostats really lower bills?
Configured properly, yes, typically eight to fifteen percent. Configured as an expensive wall ornament with default settings, barely. The savings come from schedules, staging discipline, and occupancy logic actually being set up.
My house has no C-wire. Can I still get one?
Yes. We run a new conductor or install the adapter cleanly, whichever the wiring path favors. Power-stealing workarounds cause the flickering and dropout complaints you read about, so we do it right instead.
Can a smart thermostat control my heat pump correctly?
The good ones can, when configured by someone who understands heat pump staging. That configuration is exactly what we do, and it’s what keeps auxiliary heat from hijacking your winter bill.
